The Prophecy of New Tongues According to Jesus.
Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

According to Isaiah
Isaiah 33:19 Thou shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a deeper speech than thou canst perceive; of a stammering tongue, [that thou canst] not understand.

Tongues according to Paul
1 Corinthians 14:2 For he that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth [him]; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. 1 Corinthians 14:4 He that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue edifieth himself;

The Fulfillment of The New Tongues
All 120 believers had to be in one mind and one accord in waiting for the promise, signs and wonders that Jesus said would follow the believer (Mark 16:17) and of a stammering tongue (Isaiah 33:19).

Acts2:3-4 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
Does anybody notice the ?other tongues or unknown tongues,? besides the ones in their mouth?lol?the cloven tongues like as of fire that sat upon all 120 believers? Why do people miss that? It really is unknown! Even many of the people I have met that do speak in tongues don?t see this. This has much to do with why they were able to be directed to speak with stammering lips from their own mouth. Read verse 4.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

All 120 were in the Spirit speaking unto God, speaking mysteries, no man could understand (1Cor.14:2), with cloven tongues as of fire, that caused their lips to stammer as the Spirit gave them utterance (Isaiah 33:19 and 1Cor. 14:4). This is why you must ?Hear what the Spirit is saying!?

What does Paul say about being in the Spirit when talking about tongues.
1 Corinthians 14:15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

It wasn't until soon after, their stammering lips were carried outside the upper room and that the multitude out of every nation under heaven were gathered together, heard them speak in their own language, caused by the same cloven tongues, as the Spirit still gave them utterance. The 120 never had ?Rosetta Stone? lessons in any

The Prophecy of using the New Tongues for people in all Race to Hear
Isaiah 32:4 The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.
Isaiah 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
1 Corinthians 14:21 In the law it is written, With [men of] other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

Acts2:8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born ?
9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
10 Phrygia, and * Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome *, Jews and * proselytes,
11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
Acts 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.

I have more but I will stop there. I just might email you the rest.

God Bless everyone
I certainly agree. Truth is that speaking in tongues, as done today, is either true or false. There is no way around that. One could take that even farther and say that if it is not of God then who is it from? Most would say of the devil. Certainly from study of scripture I do not see this modern-day tongues as the correct understanding. Also I would have a problem with believing that God would bestow such a gift on the masses, especially many that do not live a Christian life. GB

I agree! LOL
Ive seen people gather together and say they have the spirit and make gibberish but I still wasnt feel'n it, I used to wonder if it was just me and why couldnt I have this special gift. Biblicaly It was a special day for them to recieve the Holy Spirit and they spoke actual languages not bla-bla. They'll tell you its a laungage the devil cant understand....guess we fooled the O'l devil lol.
I do not believe in tongues as many churches speak them today. I believe that tongues was meant to be a foreign language in the Bible.

The word tongue is always interchangeable with the word language in each and every instance that God uses it.
When the Lord destroys the Tower of Babel and scatters mankind abroad he gives them each their own tongue/language.
In Acts they fulfill God's OT prophecy when Jews from every tongue/language/nation gather together
