Does The New Testament Still Teach In Giving 10%?

Is 10% enough to give or should we give more as the Lord leads?

God Bless, Ronald,

I most certainly agree tithes and offerings are mentioned but in a few places of the New Testament. I believe you know that Abraham paid a tithe of 10% to Melchezadec from the spoils of war. Giving a onetime offering of 10% to Melchelzadec came from his heart when there was no law to pay tithes to anyone. Neither, was there a Levitical Priesthood or any type of Priesthood that came by the law. Both the law to pay tithes and priesthood came through Moses.

Since Abraham gave a tithe and 10% to Mechezadec without God telling him or giving a law to do so, it would seem there are questions here? Who is Melchazadec, just some self made Priest or one of Gods manifestation in the flesh? I know God is a Spirit and has taken on many names, titles and manifestations. So I would have to say it was one of his manifestations as the High Priest. My second question is;

Did Abraham come to his own conclusion in which way to honor God or was he inspired by the Spirit of God within himself to pay a tithe?

I believe the answer is by the Spirit (God), already in him. I see then the law of the Spirit, the New Covenant being revealed, written in the mind and heart of Abraham.

Romans 4:13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, [was] not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

If tithe started out by the Law of the Spirit (New Covenant), through Abraham to pay a tithe, I would have to say paying tithe are still in order through the Law of the Spirit (New Covenant) unto Jesus Christ, who is a High Priest after the order of Melchalzadec of the New Covenant (Law of the Spirit).

Romans 4:16 Therefore [it is] of faith, that [it might be] by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

As concerning the law given through Moses, to natural Israel, to pay tithe, still exist, God did not do away with the law, but renewed it through Jesus Christ. Paying tithes to the Levitical Priesthood changed, but the Law of the Spirit (New Covenant) to pay tithes unto the High Priest, Jesus Christ (as Abraham) and to his Priesthood washed and cleansed by the blood of the lamb for the working of our Lords Ministry, as we are of Abraham?s seed of faith has not.

I am not oblivious of preachers that have taken advantage of believer?s tithes and offerings. I am also not oblivious of people who will take advantage of believers, as believers observe what preachers are doing, to teach them not to pay their tithes. They teach how greedy preachers are and at the same time being greedy themselves unto God to support the men and women, God has chosen to preach the Kingdom.

I'll stop there for now, I'll be waiting to hear from you,
God Bless you and family.....

No, the New Testament does not teach giving 10% anymore. Nor did it ever except to the people that God made a covenant to, and nobody else.
